ATS December Seminar – Synthetic Fibre Reinforced Segmental Lining of the Santõna Laredo Subfluvial Water Tunnel

Design of the Synthetic Fibre Reinforced Segmental Lining of the Santõna Laredo Subfluvial Water Tunnel

Don’t miss next weeks’ presentation by Dr Ralf Winterberg on the Synthetic Fibre Reinforced Segmental Lining at the Santõna Laredo Subfluvial Water Tunnel.

Currently under construction, the Santõna Laredo Subfluvial Water Tunnel is a 1.5 km, 4.3 m diametre, TBM driven subsea wastewater tunnel in northern Spain. The original segment lining comprised 95 kg/m3 of rebar cage. Contractor Acciona Infrastructure along with designers Ingemey Consultores and fibre supplier Elasto Plastic Concrete successfully changed the design to 5 kg/m3 of synthetic fibre as the primary reinforcement and 16 kg/m3 of steel bar, as additional bursting reinforcement at the jacking face.

Presented by Engineers Australia and The Australasian Tunnelling Society, Dr Winterberg will review the segment design of the Santõna Laredo tunnel, the design principles used and outcomes achieved.

Session will be held in NSW on Wednesday 7th December and in QLD on Thursday 8th December. Follow the links below to register.

NSW – Wednesday 7th December

QLD – Thursday 8th December
