BarChip macro synthetic fibre is simplifying track slab construction on the Gold Coast Light Rail by eliminating steel reinforcement and saving time on site.
BarChip macro synthetic fibre is simplifying track slab construction on the Gold Coast Light Rail by eliminating steel reinforcement and saving time on site.
In total, 438.7 tonnes of steel reinforcement was replaced with just 19 tonnes of BarChip48 macro synthetic fibre. Along with simplified logistics and faster construction, this change resulted in a direct carbon reduction of 900 tCO2-eq.
BarChip macro synthetic fibre helps Parramatta Light Rail deliver world-class sustainable infrastructure, reducing the carbon footprint of the concrete track slab by 4,815 tonnes of CO2e and reducing labour costs by 15%.
BarChip48 is Reinforcing 45 km of Concrete Track Slab in Istanbul’s New M11 Metro Line. BarChip eliminated corrosion and reduced construction time.
